Photographer \ Director \ Creative Director
German-born Eva Schwank is a photographer, director, and creative director splitting her time between the US and London. With an artistic sensibility and a passion for storytelling, she transforms concepts into striking, thought-provoking visuals. Her work blends an eye for detail with a raw, authentic aesthetic—pushing boundaries while staying deeply connected to realness.
Eva began her career with an apprenticeship in Germany, earning recognition for her craft by completing with honors. She believes that beauty is unique, diverse, and imperfect. Championing unretouched work and prioritizing transparency, by crafting visuals that celebrate individuality rather than unattainable ideals.
Eva further honed her expertise by completing a Creative Direction Course at Vogue College, refining her skills in conceptual development, brand storytelling, and innovative visual strategies.
Her distinctive and sought-after approach has attracted brands such as Olay, Loops Beauty, Pantene, Charlotte Tilbury, Good Light, Garnier, Swarovski, Kess Berlin, and Liberty London. Eva’s editorial work has appeared in Vogue Italia, British Vogue, L’Officiel NL, Elle, Cultured Magazine, NR Magazine, Glamour, and Darling Magazine.
Beyond aesthetics, Eva is committed to purpose-driven creativity—where storytelling, sustainability, and innovation intersect. Her book, No Planet B-eauty, explores the delicate balance between the beauty industry and environmental impact, weaving together fashion and activism. Staying true to her commitment to sustainability and the celebration of unretouched skin, all profits from the book supported the Centre of Sustainability PH, working to conserve the Philippines’ last remaining rainforest. The project won Gold and Bronze at the Tokyo Foto Awards and was nominated four times in the Refocus Awards 2022.
On set and beyond, Eva fosters collaboration and inclusivity, believing that creativity flourishes when diverse voices come together. She carefully curates teams that reflect a spectrum of perspectives, ensuring an atmosphere of honesty, kindness, and open communication. Whether directing a campaign or capturing a single frame, her work challenges norms, reimagines beauty, and tells stories that are as real as they are visually striking.

Conscious Creativity for a Sustainable Future
SUSTAINABILITY
In early 2025, Eva became a Climate Steward with @commonsearth, actively offsetting her carbon footprint each month. She has pledged to fly more consciously, following @commonsearth’s six rules for lower-emission travel and offsetting all flight emissions. Beyond carbon tracking, sustainability is deeply woven into her creative practice—championing real beauty, minimal retouching, and inclusive storytelling to shift industry norms toward authenticity and environmental responsibility.
Real Skin, Real Stories
TRANSPARENCY
In 2024, Eva introduced the hashtag #unretouched to openly share when images remain untouched, fostering honesty about what has—and hasn’t—been altered. She believes transparency in advertising and editorial work is crucial in changing the narrative of unrealistic beauty standards, especially for younger audiences facing unattainable pressures.
In her personal editorial work, retouching is minimal to nonexistent. Every skin type, every body, every texture is perfect —just as it is. By championing raw, real beauty, Eva hopes to spark an industry-wide shift toward honesty, self-acceptance, and a healthier visual culture.
More Voices, More Stories, More Truth
DIVERSITY
Creativity thrives when diverse voices come together.
Eva is committed to radical inclusion at every level—on set, behind the scenes, and in front of the lens. To her, diversity isn’t just about skin color; it’s about creating space for different identities, abilities, genders, body types, and lived experiences. She believes that the best creative work happens when a variety of perspectives are represented, shaping a more truthful and expansive vision.
Her approach ensures that teams are not only diverse but also feel genuinely seen, heard, and valued. On set, she fosters an atmosphere of honesty, kindness, and joy, where open communication and respect drive the creative process.
